Want to Help People Learn What You Know About the Economy, Debt, and Taxes, but Don’t Know Where to Start?
Here’s Your Chance to Improve the World You Leave to Your Heirs
Join the Freedom Kit Initiative to Promote Free Markets & Limited Government the World Over
“There are too many young minds in our world today that don’t have access to the seminal books on liberty, which contain the answers to forming a more prosperous and peaceful society. This is the reason for my support of the Freedom Kit Initiative.”
— Louis Carabini, founder and chairman, Monex Precious Metals
Born to a family of modest means in Venezuela in 1976, Hugo Gonzales was a big dreamer. From an early age, he recalls wanting to solve big societal problems, like reducing poverty, improving education and health care, and ending the crony relationship between Big Oil and government. By the young age of 17, Hugo excelled in academics, so he decided to pursue a degree at a prestigious university in Mexico.
In Venezuela, for young men who are smart, academically gifted and eager to solve problems created by the state, there’s only one career path… big government bureaucrat, “do-gooder,” or “world improver.”
Whatever you call it, it offers job security, a nice office with a large staff at your beck and call, daily invitations to the sweetest cocktail parties in town, no irritating lines at the airport, and a soapbox to weigh in on important policy issues that you know absolutely nothing about.
What’s not to like?
It’s truly a great gig if you’re lucky enough to land it, and Hugo relished the thought. Besides, greedy capitalists are just plain evil, so the statists exclaim.
However, Hugo’s career path was abruptly cut short after a chance encounter.
By grand design or just plain luck, Hugo sat in on a lecture given by Alberto Mansueti, a renowned Argentine political activist and president of The Center for Classical Liberalism. After the lecture, a life-altering discussion ensued, and Alberto suggested Hugo visit the Ludwig von Mises Institute website where he found The Ethics of Liberty, by Murray Rothbard.
Reading Rothbard led Hugo to see the fallacy of Big Government intervention. Governments weren’t solving society’s problems. If anything, they were creating bigger problems and then intervening further, creating an endless spiral of debt and destruction
Hungry for more “libertarian ammunition,” Hugo read Ludwig von Mises, Frederic Bastiat, and F.A. Hayek. Hugo now understood that working for the government was not the answer to ending poverty, improving education, or establishing a more prosperous economy. Instead, the real solutions lay in individual entrepreneurship, property rights, limited government, and free-market capitalism.
Hugo is now fully committed to promoting and teaching the true principles and benefits of liberty to the next generation. He campaigns aggressively at the grassroots level at multiple university campuses, he produces and records weekly libertarian podcast shows for the Mexican liberty movement. These are just a few action items that Hugo is working on. It’s Hugo’s experience we want to replicate the world over. And we need your help:
Help Us Reach Other “Hugos” Through The Freedom Kit Initiative
We established a new initiative in hope of reaching and inspiring other “Hugo’s” around the globe to break free from the false premise that we need Big Government to take care of us and ease our struggles.
The Freedom Kit Initiative, launched by the Laissez Faire Club, was established for one reason: to connect people concerned with free-spending governments around the world with people who are seeking new solutions to societal problems.
And so far, we’re getting some good response:
“I would be honored to be part of a system / organization that spread the tried and true ideas of liberty across the globe.” — R.H., U.S.
“I love the Freedom Kit Initiative. Since the results of our past election, I have been trying to figure out a way that I could become involved in halting the erosion of our individual freedoms. When I read about the Freedom Kit Initiative, I thought what an excellent idea. I will certainly be participating.” –P.M, U.S
“There is a lack of publications on the subjects of free markets and libertarianism in our country. These books are almost impossible to get. We really need books to carry on spreading the message of libertarianism and free-markets in our country, as well as almost every other Latin American country, which have a huge tradition of statism and little-to-no institutions that teach and spread the ideas of freedom. Your books will be a great help to us and to our cause.” — J.T, Mexico
As a growing number of countries teeter on the brink of financial collapse, we think the time is now ripe to disseminate mass quantities of laissez faire books that spell out the advantages of free markets, private property, and individual freedom.
Through our global affiliate network of libertarian schools, organizations, and institutional partners, we are in a unique position to facilitate this connection between the prominent advocates of liberty and the new generation of “Hugos.”
With more than 400 titles in our catalog to choose from, the Laissez Faire Club contains perhaps the world’s largest collection of books on liberty, the Austrian and Chicago schools of economic thought, free-market capitalism, and limited government.
A very small sample of our most popular titles includes these timeless classics:
- The Law, by Frederic Bastiat
- A Tiger by the Tail, by Friedrich A. Hayek
- A Beautiful Anarchy, by Jeffrey A. Tucker
- The Market for Liberty, by Linda & Morris Tannehill

However, in our effort to accommodate your interest and support of liberty through the Freedom Kit Initiative, we have partnered with the top libertarian organizations around the globe that are actively and aggressively involved in spreading the cause of freedom. These nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations have indicated strong interest in the Freedom Kit Initiative and are in desperate need of a consistent shipment of libertarian books to hand out to new members at conferences, student camps, and new membership campaigns. As such, these organizations have agreed to accept your financial contribution with the intent of acquiring new libertarian books from the LFC on a consistent and ongoing basis.

Hugo informed us that these books are going to be used to establish a new libertarian library.
Wow! Imagine the consequences. Your contribution will spread the ideas of freedom throughout the world and will make a positive impact for generations to come.
“Books are lighthouses erected in the great sea of time.”
— E.P. Whipple, American essayist and critic, 1848

The formula for building a strong, peaceful, prosperous, and innovative society was already discovered many generations ago, and it’s called individual FREEDOM. It is time to aggressively spread this formula far and wide to ensure that we pass it on to the next generation.
As you consider making a contribution to the Freedom Kit Initiative, we would like to leave you with a passage from Socialism, by Ludwig von Mises, which is an excellent call to arms to all freedom lovers out there:
Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders; no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way out for himself if society is sweeping toward destruction. Therefore, everyone, in his own interests, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle. None can stand aside with unconcern; the interests of everyone hang on the result. Whether he chooses or not, every man is drawn into the great historical struggle, the decisive battle into which our epoch has plunged us.
— Ludwig Von Mises
